Agreement Met For Pain Control Pump
McKinley Medical announced that it has entered into a new three-year group purchasing contract with Premier Purchasing Partners, LP for the ACCUFUSER Post-Op Pain Control Pump. Effective June 1, 2005, the agreement offers more than 1,500 Premier member hospitals throughout the United States access to McKinley Medical's ACCUFUSER pump for non-narcotic, post-operative pain relief following designated surgical procedures.
"The Premier contract really validates our arrival in the surgical field," said Randy Hoffman, president of McKinley Medical. "We've undertaken a major effort to develop our innovative ACCUFUSER technology, and now people are recognizing the value of the product and the service we have to offer."
The ACCUFUSER pump is a portable, non-electronic balloon infuser that delivers continuous infusion of local anesthetic through the special McKinley Saturation Catheter to the site of the surgery. While wearing the ACCUFUSER pump, patients can press a bolus button to receive additional doses of non-narcotic medication to relieve breakthrough pain. Made of non-latex materials, the ACCUFUSER pump is safe, simple and lightweight so patients can use it anywhere they go following general, orthopedic, aesthetic/plastic and other surgical procedures.
