CheckSum, Inc.nufacturing Defects Analyzers (MDAs) provide the capability to quickly and easily test assemblies for common manufacturing defects such as incorrect, missing or misoriented components, and opens and shorts. These faults comprise the vast majority of problems encountered in the typical manufacturing flow. Since MDAs have low initial purchase price and ease in programming, they provide highly cost-effective means of improving productivity. MDA test systems, sometimes called analog in-circuit testers (ICT), can quickly and accurately measure continuity, capacitors, resistors, inductors, voltages, semiconductor junction voltages, and transistor/FET performance. With these basic tools, MDAs can find most faults in analog or digital assemblies before power-up. The software tools for CAD conversion, auto-guarding, auto-programming, and SPC data logging and analysis are included with the Visual MDA for Windows system software. Pneumatic fixture systems with quick-change fixture kits can be configured from 200 test points to 2000 test points. Test system options include functional test, vectorless test for SMT opens and capacitor polarity using Agilent TestJet technology and boundary-scan test. CheckSum provides test systems, custom test programs, and bed-of-nails test fixtures for assemblies with single or double-sided surface mount technology (SMT) as well as through-hole components.
