CHEM SHOW '99: The 6DB series blow-down valves provide for instrumentation line bleed or blow-down on air, gas, vapor, and steam service. They reliably perform within an operating range of –65° to 1000° F (-53° to 537° C), and at working pressures up to 6000 psig (413 bar).

Constructed of 316 stainless steel, the rugged, union bonnet design of the valve provides a safety margin be preventing accidental valve disassembly. Available in both straight and angle pattern-bodies, the valves include Grafoil packing for high-temperature, positive shutoff performance in severe service applications.

End connections and available sizes include:

  • tube fitting (3/8 in., ½ in., 10 mm, and 12 mm)
  • female NPT (¼ in and 3/8 in.)
  • male VCO fitting (½ in.)
  • male VCR fitting (½ in.)
  • tube socket weld (3/8 in. and ½ in.)
  • pipe socket weld (¼ in.)

Flow coefficient (Cv) is rated at 0.86, while orifice size is 0.250 in. (6.4 mm). Every valve is factory tested with nitrogen at 1000 psig (68.9 bar) for leakage at both the seat and packing.
