CACI's Software Makes It Easy to Interface With Multiple Procurement Systems

CACI International Inc (Arlington, CA) announced that it has developed an open architecture e-commerce software solution called Comprizon Gateway that enhances electronic procurement by providing a contract management interface to multiple electronic procurement systems.

Scheduled to be launched by June 30, 2000, Comprizon Gateway is the next in a series of CACI e-Business initiatives designed to improve the software infrastructure of purchasing systems and portal Web sites.

Comprizon Gateway, when used in conjunction with CACI's Comprizon.Buy digital purchasing solution, solves a key procurement problem. Under many current systems, users who initiate a purchasing action that goes beyond the thresholds of that system must engage a second system to contact their procurement department and complete the request. This can range from e-mail for special purchasing forms, to logging on to an entirely different purchasing system designed to handle more complicated requests.

With Comprizon Gateway, users eliminate these extra steps, processing complex procurement transactions right from their electronic procurement system. A user need not move from the current system but simply engage Comprizon Gateway seamlessly through the single unit interface—the Comprizon Gateway software sends the complex or special request directly to the procurement department.

The benefits of CACI's new integration solution include:

  • Enabling procurement departments to be more responsive to users by revising expected purchasing needs to match observed new user trends

  • Providing more complete data for spending analysis, sourcing evaluation, and external reporting

  • Encouraging broader adoption of e-Commerce through ease of use, speed, and more efficient procurement processes

"CACI's Comprizon Gateway is an attractive complement to many of the electronic purchasing solutions available today. Add to this the functionality of our Comprizon.Buy digital purchasing system, and the result is comprehensive contract management and procurement functionality for both private and public sector enterprises," says Ken Johnson, president, CACI Inc.

According to CACI chairman and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, "CACI's development of Comprizon Gateway continues nearly 15 years of CACI technical distinction in e-Commerce. Our focus on e-Commerce and e-Billing initiatives within e-Business is part of our growth strategy and is an important way we intend to keep CACI clients and client solutions competitive with market demands."
