DEX Provides Complete Supply Chain Solution For GE Security's CommerceGuard Product
Camarillo, CA - DEX (Data Exchange Corporation), a leading supply chain solutions provider for high-tech industries, announced recently that it is managing the reverse and forward logistics process for GE Security, Inc.'s CommerceGuard Container Security Devices (CSDs). GE Security, Inc,. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Electric Company.
DEX, with more than two decades of expertise in the supply chain industry, designed a supply chain solution for GE Security that enables the quick and efficient reverse and forward logistics of the CSDs. GE Security selected DEX based on DEX's commitment to serve CommerceGuard customers with knowledge, experience, and integrated IT and professional services. GE favored DEX's customer interface, OrderVision, for real-time visibility and data access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from any location worldwide.
GE Security's CommerceGuard system provides security and visibility of shipments in the maritime supply chain. It helps protect seaports by detecting and reporting intrusion into intermodal cargo containers as they carry cargo from point of origin to final destination. The CSD is integrated with the CommerceGuard Global Information Network to monitor container movements, register door-opening events, and regularly update users throughout the shipping process. Cargo owners, shippers, authorized logistics providers, port authorities and other appropriate government authorities can securely access the information through any Internet browser or by choosing to receive data feeds.
"DEX's innovative solutions and commitment to quick service and ease-of-use will make us a popular option for GE Security's CommerceGuard customers," said Howard Goldberg, senior vice president and general manager of DEX's California division. "Our expertise in the supply chain industry enables us to tailor solutions for GE Security that will exceed expectations and increase shareholder value."
"GE Security is pleased to offer the DEX service to CommerceGuard customers who would like a comprehensive service at-hand to deliver and pickup their CSDs," said Randy Koch, general manager of GE Security's cargo security business and president of CommerceGuard. "DEX provides simplicity, easy-access, and high visibility for global CommerceGuard customers who want to outsource these delivery and return services."
