DINA SDK Security Product of the Year

The Finnsecurity Association granted the 2001 Security Product Award to the DINA SDK software tool at the FinSec 2001 fair in Helsinki. The product, which provides a toolbox for integrating the functions of digital CCTV systems with other security or production systems, is developed by Mirasys Ltd., Finland.

Mirasys is one of the leading suppliers of digital video recorders. Typical applications for the ever growing installed base of Dina recorders are found in the banking sector, business premises, logistics terminals, communities, museums, educational establishments and industrial companies. According to the end users DINA systems have proven to be a solid investment by providing improved crime detection and decreased operating costs.

The DINA SDK (Software Development Kit) developed by Mirasys enables a seamless integration of Mirasys developed digital video recorders with third party systems. These may include access control, alarm systems or building automation systems. Mirasys' product range includes several DINA standard products, which have quickly achieved a strong domestic market position.

Export sales are also developing favorably together with partners worldwide. The competitive advantages of the software-based DINA products are ease of use and advanced search tools. The DINA digital recorders are designed for versatile video monitoring.

Peter Westerholm, the CEO of Mirasys Ltd. believes that the company's success is based on the ability to customize its products to meet the versatile demands of different user segments.

Mirasys presented a new version of the DINA digital video recorder at the FinnSec 2001 fair in Helsinki Fair Centre October 18. – 20. In addition to the SDK tool, the new version features new functionality such as www-based remote computing, and control of the digital recorder across TCP/IP networks.
