Edinburgh Napier University Selects Proactis To Manage Purchasing From Approved Suppliers

Proactis, the global spend management experts, has announced that Edinburgh Napier University has selected the Proactis marketplace to drive more purchasing from preferred suppliers.

The University is looking to drive best value, improve compliance, and streamline operations by taking more control of institution-wide purchasing. Working with Proactis, it identified that providing employees with a single online destination where they can quickly and easily find, compare and choose what they need from preferred suppliers – utilising catalogues, contracts and collaborative frameworks within the higher education sector – was the perfect strategy.

“We want to ensure that buyers around the wider organisation are able to access goods and services easily, when they want, and at the best possible price. By adopting Proactis, there are many benefits to the University as well as our suppliers," stated Andrew Foulner, Head of Procurement, at Edinburgh Napier University. “A key requirement was to implement a marketplace that integrated with our Unit4 Business World ERP system, and in doing so, we hope to benefit from automating and improving our eInvoicing processes,”

Proactis will provide the platform to host all supplier catalogues and punch-outs as required. This means the institution only has to manage a single connection from the ERP system; Proactis manages the rest. The secure ‘online store’ connects employees to major suppliers’ websites and catalogues, with favourable, nationally and locally agreed prices.

"Proactis was the clear choice for the University, the focus on improving spend management, and the proven integration from the strategic partnership of Unit4 and Proactis, were all pivotal to us,” concluded Andrew “The combination of all these factors really stood out to us and we look forward to a strong, long term partnership with Proactis”.

Edinburgh Napier University is the latest customer to adopt Proactis marketplace functionality, improving the buying experience for end users. Proactis already supports over 55 Universities such as Newcastle University, Leeds Beckett University, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of East London.
