Liebherr Digitalizes Its Purchasing Processes With JAGGAER

Research Triangle, N.C and Vienna (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - JAGGAER, the world’s largest independent spend management company, today announces that it is working together with the Liebherr Group, to optimize enterprise-wide supplier management. Liebherr is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction machinery and is also firmly established in many other business areas as a vendor of technically sophisticated, customer-oriented products and services.

Liebherr was founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr and has grown to a group of companies with 46,169 employees in more than 130 companies on all continents. In 2018 Liebherr generated total revenues of € 10.5 billion. The decentralized group of companies are comprised of eleven divisions, which rely on a global procurement set-up for material groups management. An internal service provider (Liebherr Purchasing Services GmbH) performs purchasing organization and coordination tasks at group level.

One of the most important success factors in procurement is the central consideration and coordination of the material groups. The constant optimization of existing supplier relationships, as well as the development of new and efficient relationships, ensures a successful collaboration. The globally active group chose JAGGAER’s solution because of the company’s years of experience and expertise in mapping source-to-pay processes.

The decentralized organization meant that Liebherr needed a purchasing solution that made central supplier management available worldwide. It was also important to ensure a smooth migration from the legacy solution used centrally at Liebherr, including all content and processes, into the new JAGGAER solution. The aim was to take the global database, which contains uniform master data across the Group, as well as a harmonized maintenance and review process, to the next level.

The implementation of JAGGAER’s global supplier management system enables Liebherr to relieve operational business units of purchasing tasks and to focus on core activities that make a significant contribution to value creation. Above all, the ongoing digitalization of the entire tendering process and the award procedure is enabling the global purchasing organization to achieve greater transparency and momentum.

The core components of the Liebherr source-to-pay process will be fully digitalized by 2025. A roadmap has already been drawn up for this purpose, which describes and structures the path to “Target 2025+”. By working together with JAGGAER, the expert in digital transformation, Liebherr has a strong partner at its side and is well equipped for a digital future.
