Renishaw Inc.inear encoder is designed for application flexibility, rugged construction, and non-contact reliability in applications involving high speed and high precision. Typical applications range from miniaturized electronics and board production to scientific stages, metrology and testing, robots, laser cutting, and automated assembly. Measuring just 0.63x0.63x0.39 in. (15x15x9.8 mm), the encoder brings plug-and-play convenience to linear motors and critical-positioning motion systems. The encoder delivers speeds up to 48 ft/sec (14m/sec) with resolutions as high as 0.2 µm. The encoder is shop-floor tough in a full-metal jacket. The non-contact encoder runs on 40 µm pitch scale with 0.8 mm ride eight to eliminate wear, friction, and hysteresis as reliability problems. Shielding avoids EMI/RFI interference. The patented filtering optics average reflections from multiple scale facets, ensuring signal stability and accuracy even with contamination or minor damage to the scale.
