Potbelly Sandwich Works, LLC Uses Proactis Sourcing Services To Uncover Value Across Its Sourcing Processes

Proactis, the global spend management and B2B eCommerce company, recently announced that Potbelly Sandwich Works, LLC ("Potbelly") has selected Proactis to manage sourcing events, reduce costs and engage suppliers.

Potbelly is a neighborhood sandwich concept that has been feeding customers’ smiles with warm, toasty sandwiches, signature salads, hand-dipped shakes and other fresh menu items, customized just the way customers want them, for more than 40 years. Potbelly promises Fresh, Fast & Friendly service in an environment that reflects the local neighborhood. Since opening its first shop in Chicago in 1977, Potbelly has expanded to neighborhoods across the country - with more than 400 company-owned shops in the United States. Additionally, Potbelly franchisees operate approximately 50 shops domestically, in the Middle East, Canada and India.

Potbelly was looking for opportunities to improve its sourcing processes, engage new suppliers and ultimately reduce costs. Proactis Sourcing Services were selected, initially on a Proof of Concept (POC) basis, to validate current suppliers and find additional suppliers based on Potbelly requirements including quality, service and price.

“Proactis is helping us validate our current supplier pricing and identifying new categories where we can save. Proactis’ fully managed sourcing service provides all the necessary support required to create and run events for our Procurement team. The Proactis team gives us confidence that we are getting the best value with every purchase,” said Jeff Bromwich, VP Enterprise Procurement at Potbelly.

“The food service industry often experiences squeezed profit margins, so creating opportunities to generate value and savings is vital,” said Len Kaplan, Vice President Managed Sourcing Sales at Proactis. “Proactis has the ability to scale internal Procurement teams with our experts to uncover additional savings, value and sources of supply.”
