Vygon Signs Three-Year Agreement With HealthTrust Purchasing Group

Montgomeryville, PA - Vygon announced recently that it has signed an agreement with Tennessee-based HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HPG), a national healthcare group purchasing organization, for neonatal umbilical catheters and enteral feeding systems. The three-year contract with HPG went into effect on July 1, 2011 and will continue through June 30, 2014.

Bob Combs, president and CEO of Vygon, commented "Vygon's agreement with HPG will help the group purchasing member organizations ensure enteral feeding safety by offering them the leading lockable non-luer safety system, Nutrisafe 2. The Nutrisafe 2 Safety Enteral Feeding System will allow hospitals to better protect their babies in the NICU by using a lockable non-luer enteral feeding system to significantly reduce the possibility of misconnection errors and makes accidental disconnection nearly impossible."

"We believe that Nutrisafe 2 will be an important part of ensuring patient safety in the hospitals as International Standards are released and FDA Guidelines are initiated that require hospitals to choose a safety enteral feeding system, if one is available" says Mr. Combs.
